Kelsey Brust
When I was in 5th grade, I remember my teacher, Mrs. Kelsey Brust, being so very creative. She would dress up as crazy Harry Potter characters to help us understand the Harry Potter books and it's key messages. Another time she decorated the entire room as a french restaurant and had us do a fancy "genre tasting." We got to read excerpts from many different book genres so we can identify what kind of books we liked.
My 5th grade classroom has been turned into an operating room, a campsite, and even the complex halls of Hogwarts. If this doesn't show creativity, I'm not sure what does. Mrs. Brust engaged with the students, and built our confidence and our understanding of many different complex topics. These lessons stick with me to this day, and I am forever grateful.
Teachers work hard to make sure their students have fun while learning. They plan and they make every lesson engaging and unique. I have grown to appreciate my present, and past teachers in a whole new way. Without them, I wouldn't be where I am now and I definitely owe them a huge "thank you" for all they have done for our entire student body.
